T20 and Cake

Apperley’s T20 team got off to a winning start last night away at the picturesque Ullenwood Bharat Cricket Ground on Crickley Hill.

Captain Matty Williams won the toss and chose to bat. Openers James Nicol (74) and Isaac Bate-Williams (25) got us off to a good start while Sam Fitzmaurice (33) and Hamish Mackenzie (12*) helped us reach 155-4 in our 20 overs.

Andy O’Connor then took 4 wickets for 5 runs opening the bowling alongside Adi Mayes (1-8). They were backed up by Theo Baldwin (2-12) and Sam Attard (2-1) as Ullenwood Bharat were bowled out for 27.

The next T20 match will be at 6pm on Wednesday 18th May at home to Charlton Kings.

Meanwhile the Cricket Club Cafe is back open again tomorrow, Friday 13th May, between 11am and 3pm.
