Covid-19 Net Usage Guidelines

​In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the ECB, Apperley Cricket Club have produced the following checklist that MUST be adhered to and completed by all users of the Apperley Cricket Club nets.

Following guidance must be followed;

  • Anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 must stay at home and self-isolate.
  • Participants must use home toilet facilities before and after use of the facility.
  • Have prior booked a net slot via the Apperley Cricket Club website.
  • A club representative must be present throughout the net session.
  • Net on your own, with members of your household OR with one person from outside your household.
  • Social distancing of at least 2 metres must be maintained at all time (unless all participants are from the same household).
  • Only one net can be used at any one time slot.
  • Strictly no sharing of cricket equipment or balls (unless participants are from the same household).
  •  Batters should only kick or knock the ball back to the bowler and not pick the ball up at any point.
  • No saliva or sweat should come into contact with the ball at any time.
  • No use of the bowling machines.
  • The clubhouse and shed are out of bounds to users.
  • Users are to bring their own hydration as the clubhouse is out of bounds.
  • Ensure that you wash your hands at home before and after using the facilities. Bring your own hand sanitiser where possible.
  • Advisee that participants have hand sanitiser as part of their equipment.
  • Participants must not arrive too early, aim to arrive 5 minutes before your slot.
  • Report any infection of household following use of the facility to allow effective contact tracing and limit the spread of the virus.

Before each net a user MUST;

  • Put on disposable gloves that are provided.
  • Spray/Wipe down the net frame/poles.
  • Spray/Wipe down the stumps that are to be used (both sets of stumps)
  • Dispose of gloves/other cleaning equipment into the bag provided within the wooden box, adjacent to nets.

After each net a user MUST;

  • Ensure all net equipment is put back in the same place as found.
  • Dispose of gloves/other cleaning equipment into the bag provided within the wooden box, adjacent to nets.
  • Ensure that First Aid box is within the wooden box, adjacent to nets.
  • Leave promptly at the end of the slot to ensure facilities are clear for the next users.
  • Put any rubbish in the bins provided (not wooden box).
  • Advise and agree with club representative that checklist has been completed.

Apperley Cricket Club retains the right to reject usage of the facilities if users are believed not to be following the guidance stated above.
